Active Travel Audits

The Active Travel Audit identifies improvements to encourage staff, students and visitors to walk and cycle School, University and Workplace. This approach involves understanding the needs of people who currently choose to walk or cycle, as well as those who would like to, but don't. This ensures that the improvements on the ground actually match need.

Two levels of Active Travel Audit are offered in partnership with the London Cycling Campaign:

Site Audit
This focuses on the private realm around a site, campus or building. For example, an audit of a University Campus looks at opportunities for walking and cycling around the site and links to public transport and car parking.

Street Audit
This extends the audit to the surrounding streets and provides a great opportunity to build partnerships with neighbouring employers, residents and the local authority. For example an audit of the University of Central Lancashire's Preston Campus also included key routes to the main bus station, railway station and city centre.
