Policy Development

Living Streets develops policy to improve our streets and public spaces for people on foot. As a nationally respected campaigning organisation, our thoughts on these five key policy areas are valued by both local campaigners and politicians alike:

1. Designing streets for the people who use them;
2. Promoting road safety;
3. Improving public health;
4. Community empowerment;
5. Addressing climate change.

We respond to public policy initiatives (see Consultation Responses), comment on issues in the news (see Articles and Speeches), and promote new thinking and research on streets and public space issues (see Policy Resources).

We also produce a range of policy briefings on many different subject areas. They are available to download below.
